Beginners guide to photographing flowers with Emily Ramm Photography - 9th June

Join Emily Ramm Photography for a relaxed and inspiring 2½-hour beginner’s workshop exploring the art of photographing flowers, set amongst the beautiful blooms of Fleece & Flowers, a sustainable British flower farm in the Leicestershire countryside.

This session is designed for anyone who loves flowers and wants to capture them more beautifully — whether an avid gardener, flower farmer, florist, or simply someone who enjoys wandering through a garden with a camera in hand.

There’s no need for fancy equipment. Guests are encouraged to bring whatever camera they already use and love — a DSLR, mirrorless camera, point-and-shoot, or even an iPhone. The focus will be on the simple fundamentals that turn a quick snapshot into a photograph to be proud of.

As the soft evening light settles over the flower fields, the workshop will explore:

• Simple ways to work with natural light

• Composition tips to bring flowers to life in a frame

• How to photograph flowers in their natural setting

• Easy tips and tricks to improve images with any camera

Participants will have the opportunity to photograph alongside Emily in the flower fields, or wander off with their camera to practise new skills amongst the rows of seasonal blooms.

There will also be a styled vase set-up with backdrop ready to experiment with — perfect for practising close-ups and creating a beautiful floral still life.

The aim of the evening is simple: to slow down, enjoy the flowers, learn a few creative tools, and leave with a gallery of images and a fresh way of seeing the beauty around you.
